Economic Growth

Colorado is currently enjoying tremendous economic growth and the lowest unemployment in the nation. We need to ensure that this current prosperity is sustained beyond the current boom to benefit our children and grandchildren.

Colorado is currently enjoying tremendous economic growth and the lowest unemployment in the nation. We need to ensure that this current prosperity is sustained beyond the current boom to benefit our children and grandchildren. Doing so will require investing in infrastructure that meets the needs of our rapidly growing state. Better infrastructure will reduce costs for workers and business owners, leaving more resources to invest in the local economy.

We also need to examine bureaucratic hurdles that are hindering the growth of small businesses. Entrepreneurs and small business owners are the lifeblood of our local and state economy, providing innovation and jobs. We need to ensure that those energetic and creative people who take on the risks of starting up a company don’t have any unnecessary burdens placed on them by their state government.

Finally, as our state grows we need to be sure that the burdens of growth are fairly distributed. Economic growth should never be discouraged, but we must work to make sure everyone has a place in our increasingly expensive state. This means incentivizing the construction of affordable housing, and making public transportation a central feature of our expanding transportation infrastructure.
